This week of Thanksgiving, as people remember the things they are thankful for – their families, friends, having a home or a dream job – The Women’s Center would like to add our list of thanks. And please let us know what you are thankful for, too.
We are thankful for the people who support The Women’s Center so generously with their time, their talent and their financial resources. Whether a board member, a volunteer, a staff member or a donor, you make the work of The Women’s Center possible.
Laura Hilgart, President/CEO
We are thankful for our community partners who provide skills training, adult education, financial education, supportive services, referrals to our programs, and who work in partnership with us to help Tarrant County residents become more financially stable and improve their lives.
I am thankful for the talented staff in the Employment Solutions department who work tirelessly and show so much compassion for the women and men in our community who are out of work and struggling to get back on their feet! They teach and guide and give hope to job seekers throughout Tarrant County!
Terri Rios, Director of Employment Solutions
I am thankful for the 65+ program volunteers! Our volunteers change the lives of our clients every single day because they are our first line of support 365 days a year, 24 hours a day in the hospitals, on the phones, in legal clinics and in our offices. They get up in the middle of the night, they do the paperwork, they take shifts constantly, they even help with special projects and events beyond their role expectations. They allow our agency to empower more people, while asking for nothing in return. Even though I might not speak to them every day or every week, I am thankful to know people in need are being cared for by our group of amazing volunteers!
Nadia DiStefano, Volunteer Coordinator
I am thankful for the competent and compassionate staff of The Women’s Center who provide support for those providing direct care to our clients.
Cathy Phelps, Vice President/CFO
RAPE CRISIS AND VICTIM SERVICES
Volunteers who get up in the middle of the night to be with sexual assault survivors at the hospital.
Deborah Caddy, Director of Rape Crisis and Victim Services
General Counseling Services is thankful for our volunteers that cover their shifts and then fill in the gaps!
Sherri Pratt, Director of General Counseling Services
We are thankful for our Board members who give so freely of their time and talents to help The Women’s Center make our community a better place!
Roberta Rotondo, Special Events Coordinator
