Be A Program Volunteer

Volunteers provide essential services for The Women’s Center.  Volunteer orientations are held twice a year to allow those interested an opportunity to learn more about becoming a volunteer. Program volunteers work directly with clients and must be over 18.

Volunteer Opportunities 

Victim Advocate
Provide peer counseling and emotional support to sexual assault survivors (adults and children) and their families at local hospitals and on the 24-hour Rape Crisis and Victim Services Hotline. 

Helpline Volunteer
During the weekday, answer The Women’s Center Helpline to provide emotional support and problem solving assistance to people in difficult and sometimes crisis situations. Offer information about The Women’s Center services along with referrals to community resources.

Computer Lab Volunteer 
Provide assistance to job seekers attending a group computer lab. Provide formatting and content assistance for resumes, cover letters, and applications. 

Volunteer Employment Advisor
Assist job seekers to enhance their job search knowledge and experience through facilitating Fast Track Job Search workshops and mock interviews.
